2019 Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival will take place between November 7th and November 24th in Taipei, kicking off with Synapses, helmed by renowned award-winning director CHANG Tso-chi (When Love Comes, Thanatos, Drunk) and starred with Golden Horse Awards winner LU Hsueh-feng. Synapses is inspired by varied aspects and details of everyday life, with a personal touch of the filmmakers. The Closing Film is The Garden of Evening Mists, directed by Tom LIN Shu-yu (Winds of September, Zinnia Flower), starring Golden Horse Awards winners Sylvia CHANG and LEE Sinje along with ABE Hiroshi, depicting a timeless story over generations.
 
This year, Golden Horse Film Festival proudly presents Filmmaker In Focus featuring three acclaimed filmmakers: Palestinian director Elia SULEIMAN, Macedonian-born director Milcho MANCHEVSKI, and Japanese director SUO Masayuki. There will also be Spotlight on Switzerland and Beyond The Verdict, supported by Swiss Films and Judicial Yuan. Golden Horse Film Academy collaborates with Taiwan Film Institute and Taiwan Public Television Service Foundation to pay a tribute to the Golden Era of Taiwanese cinema, with short films made by academy alumni premiered at Golden Horse Film Festival.
 
The Festival lineup consists of latest works by renowned directors and emerging new talents. It also covers varied signature sections like L.G.B.T.Q., Music Apocalypse, Crazy World, Windows on Asia and Panorama. Moreover, the annual Golden Horse Awards nominated will be showcased as well. With nearly 200 global films and the attendance of international filmmakers, Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival invites you to join the grand feast for cinephiles.

  1. Guest ticket exchange available only online. Tickets are offered on a first-come-first-served basis. Please make the booking at your earliest convenience.
  2. The Pass holder can exchange ONE ticket per screening (Opening & Closing Films, and VR Screening excluded).
  3. Once confirmed, the order may not be cancelled or modified. Please carefully review your screening before making the order.
  4. Please carefully keep the tickets since they are the only proof of purchase for screening entrance and will not be re-issued if lost or damaged.
  5. Tickets must be used along with the Pass for entry.
  6. The Pass is restricted to personal use and may be confiscated if used against regulations.
  7. In order to manage screening quality, latecomer will NOT be admitted to the screening up to 20 minutes after the screening begins.
  8. Please obey the rules for eating/drinking at the venue.
  9. The venue will be cleared after each screening. Please take care of your personal belongings.
  10. Safety first. Occupying the aisle or non-appointed seat is strictly prohibited.
  11. All rights of the film belong to the copyright owner. Photography or video / audio recording during the screening is strictly prohibited. The festival reserves the right to request for deletion of such illegal files.
  12. Film info listed in the program book is up-to-date at the time of publication. Any further change (running time/rating… etc.) will be announced on the festival official website and at the venue. Running time does not include Q&A session before or after screening.
  13. Film rating may change (after publication) due to audit by Ministry of Culture.
  14. The Festival may reject Pass issuance in the coming year for those who fail to collect tickets more than 3 times.
  15. The festival reserves the right to change the program.

  3. Ticket may be exchanged online starting from noon on the day before the screening.
  4. The Pass holder can exchange ONE ticket per screening (Opening & Closing Films, and VR Screening excluded).
  5. Each order may contain a maximum of 8 tickets.
  6. During the online booking, each order must be confirmed within 10 minutes. Overdue order will be dismissed and cancelled.
  7. Once confirmed, the order may not be cancelled or modified. Please carefully review your screening before making the order.
  8. The Festival may reject Pass issuance in the coming year for those who fail to collect tickets more than 3 times.

Print out the tickets before screening at self-service kiosk, with your (1) QR code or (2) “Pickup Serial Number” and “Pickup No.”.

  1. Nov 6: Festival Booth, between 12:30-19:30.
  2. Nov 7 - Nov 24: Festival Booth and Theaters, open 30 minutes before the first screening of the day and close 20 minutes after the last screening starts.
